The IDEX Planner and IDEX Performer apps are developed in parallel to support energy company teams across both planning and operations.

We also focussed on creating the tools to review how the job went versus the plan and how we could remove the tedious, and often inaccurate, reporting process.

The result is a complete, end-to-end platform that everyone involved in a well construction job can use to consistently deliver the best possible outcome, regardless of their role in the team.

How one operator improved procedural adherence across all teams

US Land Drilling – a client came to us with a problem around procedural adherence and how the office-based team could help the field team be more successful on every job.

The process started with a detailed "Plan of Action" in IDEX Planner, approved by the office drilling team. During execution, IDEX Performer was used to ensure all checklists were completed as required — with no “pencil whipping” after the fact.

All risks were clearly highlighted and had to be acknowledged by the field crew, and lessons learned were quickly shared with neighbouring crews to avoid unnecessary downtime.

Driving planning consistency in North Sea interventions

During a North Sea intervention campaign, a client approached us to improve planning consistency and accuracy. They had struggled with in-house digital tools developed as replacements for paper-based solutions.

After working with IDEX Planner for three months during the campaign, the team realised the value of automated workflows that encouraged new ways of working when planning wells. This resulted in significantly improved plans and more consistent planning practices.

Our Digital Strategy is critical to improved efficiency in the Intervention & Stimulation Alliance. Accurate planning, collaborative operations, and full transparency in decision-making are all expected within the Alliance. Having access to all of the latest data, information, and analyses at all times, from wherever you are, is required to make this a reality. The importance of real-time data

The key to successful operations on complex jobs is the ability to react quickly to unexpected events. To do that, everyone needs access to the latest data on the same platform.

IDEX has always provided real-time data through our Xplorer app, and we have many examples of how this has saved companies millions of dollars in offshore operations.

In addition, Aker BP’s Onshore Collaboration Centers (OCCs) play an integral role in the Alliance’s ability to leverage digitalization. The OCCs utilize the cloud-based Stimline Digital IDEX suite of solutions for planning and execution, providing access to live and fully liberated data from all operations to improve transparency and operational follow-up amongst the Alliance partners.
